Reversing Autoimmune Diseases

My Feature in Hello! Turkey

Hello! magazine Turkey ran a feature on me recently, which was lovely!

Here’s the rough translation:

Another name I can’t stop following is Yalda Alaoui, half Moroccan, half Iranian, living in London. She is a graduate of the London School of Economics Finance and is about to complete her naturopathic nutrition specialization. She publishes her years of work to control autoimmune disorders on the www.oldebsdev.kinsta.cloud platform. It recommends an anti-inflammatory lifestyle to strengthen the immune system. She has a membership system and blog where she shares her six-week menu, exercises, and meditations. She has live chats on different topics on her Instagram account every week. She shows the food preparations for her children and the product selection and details for grocery shopping with videos. My favorites are şakşuka eggs spiced with cumin and cinnamon, banana-based ice creams, and chicken tajines prepared in a Moroccan slow cooker.

Here are some more recipes, everyone:

Fresh Quinoa Salad

Sesame & Sumac Lamb Chops

Turmeric Spinach

What Does Vitamin C Do for You?

On the Health Panel for Glamour Magazine UK: What Does Vitamin C Do for You?

Hi Everyone! Along with other health experts, I commented on Glamour Magazine’s Supplements Guides, and I was asked about vitamin C.

You’ll be able to read the article here.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is so important for the body, as it boosts collagen and keeps bones, tissues, gums, cartilage, capillaries, and organs healthy.

The body cannot synthesize it, so you must obtain it through your dietary intake or supplement form. I always advocate for vitamins and minerals to be obtained from food, as it is the best way to receive maximum nutrition.

It is necessary for absorbing iron, a healthy immune system, and cell protection.

Vitamin C deficiency can occur if you:

  • smoke tobacco
  • have food allergies
  • are elderly
  • have an eating disorder
  • drink a lot of alcohol
  • embark on extreme diets
  • have inflammatory bowel disease
  • have gastrointestinal reflux
  • have cancer
  • have gingivitis
  • have glaucoma
  • take certain medications
  • have renal failure due to water-soluble vitamin C filtration during dialysis
  • are receiving liver transplants
  • have arthritis
  • have chronic illnesses

Slow wound healing is also caused to increase vitamin C intake, heatstroke, burns, and infections like pneumonia and sinusitis!

As I mentioned in the article, the excess is flushed out in urine if we have too much vitamin C. This is because it is water soluble.

This is why I recommend a slow-delivery form of vitamin C for maximum benefit.

Ester-C and Liposomal vitamin C are great.

If you have PCOS, diabetes, or insulin resistance, I recommend the Liposomal vitamin C because it does not require glucose for transportation.

Remember to proceed with caution with supplements since supplement companies are not regulated. Always go with a reputable brand.

You can see the brands I trust and love on the Yalda Loves page.

Have a wonderful day!

Healing my Autoimmune Condition – Sheerluxe Interview

An image with Yalda Alaoui smiling and also in a yoga pose, with healthy food, showing a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Healing Turned Me into the Best Version of Myself

I was interviewed by the beautiful lifestyle magazine – Sheerluxe for their ‘Industry Experts’ Series. They asked about my lifestyle and fitness regime.

You can click on the link at the bottom of the article to go straight to it, but I have included excerpts:

‘I haven’t always been healthy. In the past, I wanted to be healthy and have my body look a certain way, but I didn’t know or truly understand how to do it. I remember having oats for breakfast, thinking it was good for me when it wasn’t. My health issues forced me to stumble into this lifestyle* which also makes me look how I’ve always wanted. I did it to heal my autoimmune conditions.

‘The side effects of healing my autoimmune condition have been turning into the best version of myself.’

The article contains personal healing tips, such as advocating for a fast walk, moderate low-inflammation workouts, and not doing strenuous stuff because it isn’t good for you.

I talk about how you should eat for good gut health and the importance of taking your time over meditation or prayer. If you are a Member, please don’t forget to read the Mental Wellness in the Lifestyle Guide, and in particular, Spirituality and Guided Meditation.

I loved the feature that Sheerluxe created, and I hope you do, too! Please read it here: Yalda’s Food and Fitness Regime.

*I embarked on a decade of research to heal myself before qualifying as a Naturopathic Nutritionist with a foundation in Biomedicine. It’s lovely to share what I discovered.

I am wishing you a wonderful day!
